The data compiled is from the submissions of all the quarterly accommodation reports for an average sample of 24 major hotels on island for the first 2 quarters 2021 reported below.*
There are approximately 44 small and large properties on island the sample represents a variety of hotels available on island by size, location and product type.
Approximately 20% of the formal properties still remained nonoperational since the phased reopening of the sector from Quarter 3 of 2020.
The mid period between quarter 1 and 2 was exceptional as 3 of the larger properties were forced to shut down operations due to the closure of their main markets.
Saint Lucia has seen a resurgence in its tourism industry after the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has heavily invested in infrastructure and development to ensure facilities and attractions remain up to date and enhance visitor experiences.
